We will have 2 throw out races for the season.
Reminder to everyone that we offer four caged gas animal classes. These classes are IKF stock animal engines that run on gas. The classes were added a quite a few years ago to give families an alternative engine that is lower priced with minimal maintenance.
Caged Gas Animal Classes: The Minnewaska Track began racing gas animal classes in 2004. We were the first track that we are aware of in the state to offer these classes. The purpose of the class was to offer families a less expensive engine that required less maintenance. This gave families an option of an engine that was less than half the price of the Briggs Flathead and did not require the continuous freshening being it was ran on pump gas instead of methanol, not to mention making it much easier and cheaper for people to pick up fuel for their karts. We worked hard to promote these new classes and hoped other tracks would look at adding them as well. As a track we are happy with the gas animal classes and don’t see any need to differ from our original idea of a reasonably priced engine that requires less maintenance, which was the sole purpose of the added class.
